Ecotourism Ayni Peru Tours support the development of ecotourism in Peru and is committed to the movement for the protection of the environment and the livelihoods of destinations. We subscribe to the most acurate defininition of ecotourism which is that of Martha Honey, Co-Founder of Centre for Responsible Travel, in her book Ecotourism and Sustainable Development, Second Edition:Who Owns Paradise? She highlighted seven defining points namely(1)Involves travel to natural destinations (2) Minimizes impact (3) Builds environmental awareness (4) provides direct financial benefits for conservation (5) provides financial benefits and empowerment for local people (6) Respects local culture (7) Support human rights and democratic movements. Peru has many natural parks, national reserves and sanctuaries that make it an ideal place for ecotourism to develop. Cutervo, Tingo Maria, Manu, Huascaran, Cerros of Amotape, Rio Abiseo, Yanachaga Chemillen, Bahuaja Senene, Alto Purus are the most famous national parks. The national reserves are Pampa Galeras, Junin, Paracas, Lachay, Titicaca, Salinas y Aguada Blanca, Calipuy, Pacaya Samiria. Machu Picchu is the historical and main sanctuary.
