The region has the enigmatic ruins left by the Chachapoyas culture . The fortress of Kuelap is often compared to the marvel of MachuPichu. There is also the ruins of Karajia and Revash with their multicoloured buildings and sarcophagi, as well as the Leymebamba Museum which should not be missed.
The Peruvian Amazon jungle is one of the most attractive places in the world. The main cities are Iquitos, Pucallpa, Yurimaguas, Puerto Maldonado, Nauta in the lowland jungle. And Tarapoto, Jaen, Moyobamba, Bagua, Rioja are in the highland jungle.
