Apurímac is located in the south of Peru, bordering with Arequipa, Ayacucho and Cusco. Its capital is Abancay, a city of spring climate, narrow streets, white small houses with roofs of red tiles. Its eventful geography locates Ayacucho between immense hills and deep ravines. The roads should have been constructed with titanic efforts. It has a population of around 371.000 inhabitants. Being located in the high mountains, its climate is dominated by rains and low temperatures most of the year. Nevertheless it is still nice to travel between June and October.
